California’s largest union of state workers, SEIU Local 1000, held it’s first-ever strike on Oct. 21, 2026 in a one-day, statewide strike. Representatives from SEIU Local 1000 said their hopes were to bring the Newsom Administration back to the bargaining table for a fair contract.
